Trinidad
since 1969
According to Habanos S.A., the first Trinidads were rolled in 1969 at the El Laguito factory in Havana, the home of Cohiba. Like Cohiba, Trinidad served for decades only as a gift to foreign diplomats, with production of around 2,000 cigars a month. It was not until February 1998 that the brand went on sale, in small quantities and at first in a single size: the Fundadores, a slender cigar of 40 ring gauge and about 19 cm. Trinidad is made today in the city of Pinar del Río, at the centre of the Vuelta Abajo tobacco region.

Habanos rates Trinidad medium and describes its profile as particularly fragrant and aromatic; filler and binder come exclusively from the Vuelta Abajo, and every size is made totally by hand with long filler. In 2003 the range grew to include the Reyes, Coloniales and Robustos Extra, followed by the Robustos T in 2009 and the Esmeralda, Media Luna and Topes in 2019.
Smoke carries the Robustos Extra as a single cigar from an anniversary release, the Cabildos from the 2024 Edición Limitada and the Casilda from the 2019 Colección Habanos.
