Description
The Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 2 Reserva Cosecha 2012 is a Robusto measuring 124 mm with a ring gauge of 50. Filler, binder and wrapper come from the 2012 harvest and matured for at least three years before being rolled. The Reserva edition comprises 5,000 lacquered boxes of 20 cigars worldwide; each cigar carries a second black-and-silver band reading "Reserva".
Hoyo de Monterrey has its origins in San Juan y Martínez, in the heart of the Vuelta Abajo region. The Hoyo de Monterrey plantation, one of the renowned Vegas de Primera, is reached through a gate on the town's main square bearing the inscription "Hoyo de Monterrey. José Gener. 1860".
The word "hoyo" literally means "hole" and here refers to the low-lying position of the plantation along the fertile banks of the San Juan y Martínez river. In 1865 the Spaniard José Gener first used the name of his vega for a Habanos brand.
Its blend makes Hoyo de Monterrey the preferred choice for those seeking a delicate yet aromatic Habano: lighter in flavour, but marked by great elegance and complexity.
The Reservas are rolled by particularly experienced torcedores, to whom the factories entrust these selected tobacco leaves.
Filler, binder and wrapper come from the finest Vegas Finas de Primera in the Pinar del Río region. The high-gloss lacquered boxes underline the elegant character of this edition.
