The elegant boxes are designed in black piano lacquer and luxuriously equipped. H. Upmann, a German banker, moved to Havana in 1844, driven by his love of Cuban cigars. In Havana, he made a name for himself not only as a banker, but also as a cigar manufacturer. Although his bank closed in the 1920s, his cigars live on and are today outstanding examples of elegant Habanos with a mild to medium-bodied taste - a delight for any humidor. H. Upmann's tobacco blend consists exclusively of leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region. The distinctive boxes are decorated with gold medals, which H. Upmann received at eleven international exhibitions in the 19th century. For over 150 years, the brand has stood for perfect balance and classic taste - and the Super Magnum remains true to this tradition. This special size, known in Cuban factories as "Radiantes", measures 7 1/8 inches (180 mm) in length and has a 56 ring gauge.
