Description
Partagas cigars are known for their balanced blend of tobaccos and their characteristic taste, which comes from tobacco leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region in the province of Pinar del Río. These tobaccos, counted among the finest in the world, are carefully selected and processed by experienced cigar rollers.
The Partagas Lusitania Gran Reserva is only the third Gran Reserva ever released by Habanos. The cigars are made from tobaccos from the 2007 harvest, aged for at least five years. Only the factory's most experienced rollers were chosen to roll these cigars from carefully selected tobacco leaves. Just 5,000 boxes of 15 cigars each were produced worldwide. The blend of the Lusitania Gran Reserva is somewhat lighter than that of the classic format in the standard range, but considerably more complex and aromatic. Many experts count it among the finest Gran Reservas.
Several aficionados wanted to explore the qualities of this cigar in more detail. To do so, they took some samples from the aging process and tasted them – knowing full well that Havanas should ideally be stored for at least as long as their tobaccos were individually aged beforehand.
The special character of this large format becomes even more apparent in the second third. Gentle, pleasant notes elegantly fill the palate. The finish is so well constructed that the cigar can be enjoyed to the very last centimeter.
